Why did you decide to become a Board Member of Antrim Enterprise
-
Originally from Randalstown, I saw this an opportunity to use my skillset to help enable and support local businesses for development and growth.
-
For anyone considering starting up what advice would you have for them?
-
Do It! If you have an idea or concept, then go for it. You do not have to have all the answers now, but with the right attitude, curious mind and a great idea you can have a great business! The support is there.
-
What are the main issues and barriers facing developing businesses today?
-
In my opinion, it is the sustainable growth part of business that needs some focus and development. There are many programs and funds for starting a business, but once established, the support is less. More programs on how to be successful at exports, how to manage cashflow and have sustainable growth will help. Experienced mentors and case studies will help to show that it can be done!

Life outside current job/position on AEA board
-
I volunteer on the committee on several networking groups, which is an amazing experience. We are an active family, and support local sports clubs through volunteering at events. Before moving to Ireland I also supported local schools with STEM activities. We love to travel, and are an international family – which has been great as both myself and husband have worked overseas our entire careers thus far.
