Celebrating 30 Years of Supporting Start Ups and Small Businesses in Antrim and Newtowabbey Borough!

30 already!! It feels like we blinked and now we’re here 30 years later.  Whilst at the same time it has been a big and hard-earned milestone, a 30-year roller coaster filled with rewarding highs and like any business some lows of uncertainty.

It all started back in the late 1980’s, when a group of six business people came together to address the high unemployment and economic uncertainty following the closure of the British Enkalon Factory in Antrim.  What was to follow was the formation of Antrim Enterprise Agency Ltd., a social enterprise and charity embedded in the community.

For 30 years the mission of Antrim Enterprise has been the belief that every client that comes through our doors are helped, encouraged and supported on their entrepreneurial journey.

We have done this by making life easier for start up entrepreneurs; providing them with an arsenal of information, knowledge and support to help them along their different stages of development.

Fundamental to our success in achieving our vision and mission, is the fact that quality underpins everything we do, and we do it with pride.

Our core values reflect this pride:

Passion: Respect: Integrity: Dedication: Excellence

Along the way, we’ve developed lasting relationships with our clients, tenants, room hire users, staff and directors. We continually evolve and Antrim Enterprise has grown, even in the face of trying challenges like recessions and the pandemic.

We’re still as committed to our mission now, as we were back when Andy Little RIP became Chairperson in 1991, and we’re getting better at it every day, thanks to the leadership and support of 29 directors past and present.

Looking towards the future we are excited for the next 30 years as we steer towards our vision of being the destination of choice for enterprise development, enabling budding entrepreneurs to develop and grow successful businesses, thereby achieving their entrepreneurial dreams.
