If you are growing your business, Antrim Enterprise Agency feels that the Olympic 2012 Games could be of benefit to your business and are delighted to bring this useful information from Invest NI to you.
www.competefor.com.
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) are continuing to procure goods and services and we understand that there is still some £200m of business to be placed by the end of the year. Some of the opportunities have a very short deadline to express an interest on CompeteFor – usually only a week - but these are real opportunities. To date, of the 307 LOCOG awards 43% have been won by companies employing less than 50 people. LOCOG have informed us that they hope to place the remainder of their procurement opportunities on Competefor by the end of this year. Click here for the current pipeline of opportunities (October 2011 through to March 2012).
For information on accessing the Tier 1 LOCOG contractors who have been appointed and to investigate supply opportunities to them, please contact Invest NI for more details.
Crossrail and the Metropolitan Police are two other organisations who are also committed to using CompeteFor to advertise opportunities. Both organizations have large budgets and to-date Crossrail have placed over 100 contracts through CompeteFor.
OLYMPIC PARK LEGACY COMPANY (OPLC)OPPORTUNITIES
OLYMPIC PARK LEGACY tenders are now advertised on CompeteFor and also on the website www.legacycompany.co.uk. Most of the procurement exercises for the large contracts for this year are already underway including Estates and Facilities Management and the operation of Orbit (at ITT stage), operation of the Aquatics and Multi-sports Venue (about to go to ITT stage), the Project Management Partner (let to Mace), delivery partners for the North and South Hubs (ITT stage). OPLC is about to go out to seek a development partner for the first phase of residential development, ‘Chobham Manor’ – this will also be on CompeteFor. The next stage of procurement for supply chains is likely to start early in 2012.

In the section Invitation to Tender - further support available, I think this needs spelled out a bit more, so change to read as follows:
Invest NI have appointed a consultant to support companies that have been shortlisted to bid for sport related tenders. Therefore, if you are shortlisted for a major project related to a sporting event such as Olympics, Commonwealth Games or FIFA World Cup, please contact Invest NI as soon as possible to discuss reviewing the proposal you have developed.
Please check that your Business Profile on Competefor is fully matched to the relevant business categories to ensure you are matched to contracts related to your line of business and thus receive the relevant alerts. You can also inform Patrick McNally of Invest NI about any particular opportunities you are interested in and he will ensure that you receive the LOCOG Bulletins when we do.
They would also strongly recommend that you scan through Competefor regularly as new opportunities are entered on a very frequent basis. LOCOG are selecting their Tier 1 suppliers through Competefor and Northern Ireland companies have experienced considerable success in recent months. As the timeline for turnaround on 2012 opportunities can be very short it is best that you update any necessary changes to your Published Profile now.
